The Ken Onion Edition Mk.2 brings the flexible abrasive belt, the same technology knifemakers use to grind and sharpen blades, to a bench sized sharpener built for home and shop use. Designed with knifemaker Ken Onion and engineered by Work Sharp in Ashland, Oregon, the Mk.2 refreshes the original with seven preset belt speeds, a half degree angle guide, and faster belt changes. It's the flagship of our electric knife sharpeners.

Angle Guide: The adjustable sharpening guide covers 15 to 30 degrees with a scope click knob that detents every half degree, so a 17 degree EDC edge or a 25 degree hunting edge comes back exactly the same every time. The leather lined guides protect blade faces from scratching, and the redesigned guide clears knives with thumb studs.

Belts: The flexible 3/4" x 12" belt follows the blade's shape rather than forcing a flat bevel. The included five belt kit runs from P120 extra coarse for edge repair through X65, X22, and X4 to a 6000 grit extra fine belt for polishing. A lock out belt tensioner on the cassette makes grit changes quick, and fresh belts are stocked in our replacement sharpening belts collection.

Motor: Seven speed settings with amber LED indicators let you run slow and controlled on thin kitchen edges and fast on tools. Torque control holds belt speed steady under load, so the belt doesn't bog when you lean into a heavy blade.

Tools: The tool sharpening cassette includes a 65 degree scissor guide and handles axes and garden tools, making the Mk.2 a sharpener for the whole workshop, not just the knife drawer.
