Edge Pro sharpeners take a different approach to guided sharpening than clamping systems. Instead of locking the blade in a vise, the Edge Pro rests the knife on a flat blade table and guides a stone arm across the edge at a set angle, so you sweep the stone from heel to tip with full control of the stroke. That sweeping motion is why the Edge Pro is a favorite for kitchen knives and longer fixed blades. DLT Trading carries the Edge Pro Apex and Professional systems along with replacement stones, polish tapes, and accessories, and our knife sharpening guide covers the angles and grit progression behind them.
The Edge Pro Apex is the portable home model. It sharpens any knife with a blade height up to 3.5 inches, with graduated marks at 10, 15, 18, 21, and 24 degrees and fine adjustment between them, and it runs on any smooth surface with no power. Kits step up from the Apex Model 1 through the Model 2, Model 3, and Model 4. The Edge Pro Professional adjusts from 6 to 33 degrees and handles any length blade up to 5 1/4 inches wide, for custom knives, big fixed blades, and anything beyond the Apex. The Pro 1 Kit starts with 220 and 400 grit stones, and the Pro 2, Pro 3, and Pro 4 Kit build up to the full stone set, polish tapes, and a ceramic hone. Both fit alongside the other guided knife sharpening systems we carry.
Edge Pro systems run on their own mounted abrasives. The aluminum oxide water stones cover the full progression, from the 120 grit for heavy reprofiling through 220, 400, and 600, to the 1000 grit for a refined edge. Diamond Matrix stones use a resin bonded diamond that keeps exposing fresh diamond as it wears, so the cut rate stays consistent. They come in 650, 1100, 2300, and 4000 grit, a strong match for harder modern steels where conventional sharpening stones slow down. The Fine and Super Fine Diamond stones are made for ceramic knives only, not steel blades.
Polish tapes finish the progression with a mirror edge. Edge Pro offers 2000, 3000, and 6000 grit polish tapes in packs of 15, each good for roughly five uses, mounted on a polish tape blank. The 3000 grit diamond tape is meant for ceramic blades. For the final pass, finish on leather strops loaded with sharpening compound or CBN emulsion to clear the burr before the blade goes back to work.
Accessories expand what the system can handle. The Small Knife Attachment fits both the Apex and Professional and gives small blades and knives with thumb studs a stable platform, while the Apex Slide Guide adds a second point of contact for quicker, repeatable blade placement. The Apex Scissor Attachment sharpens scissors, shears, plane blades, and chisels on the Apex only, and the Apex Bench Mount clamps the Apex to a work surface. Keep stones flat with the Stone Leveling Kit, and stock up on stone blanks and guide clips. For the full lineup and brand background, see our Edge Pro Sharpening Systems page.
