Blade

The 2.89 inch reverse tanto blade is a first for the Wave line, giving the Alpha a knife forward feel with a strong tip. CPM MagnaCut holds an edge far longer than the 420HC on the Wave Plus while resisting rust in wet and salty conditions, and Leatherman offers free sharpening on its MagnaCut tools. Tools

The Wave Alpha carries 18 tools: needlenose and regular pliers, replaceable wire and hard wire cutters, an electrical crimper and wire stripper, a saw, an awl with eyelet, wood and metal and diamond coated files, a pry tool and medium flat screwdriver, can and bottle openers, and large and small bit drivers. The spring action scissors are the largest Leatherman has fitted to a pliers based multi-tool, and a double ended bit kit comes included.

Handle

Machined 3D G10 handles over aluminum grip securely wet or gloved, accented by color pop hardware and flush fasteners. The Obsidian finish keeps the look dark and low key, while the Wave Alpha in Cascadia offers a second colorway.

Carry

At 4.04 inches closed and 8.26 ounces, the Wave Alpha is a full size tool built for belt carry.
